This is a fine example of the Yates slow beat lever movement. The fine heavy silver case with gold hinges has a Chester hallmark for 1885, and is in good condition. The dial is almost perfect with faint hairlines next to the 6 below the seconds dial. The movement has a confusing number of names and numbers. Chris Bull P.L 837, and Thomas Yates Preston no. 6959. The case also has different numbers, the back cover has 734, the inner case 24734, however the whole watch is original proof being that the dust cover is also numbered 24734.
The dial is 47 mms in diameter, the case 55mms
